When rodents have been in the attic long enough to wreck it, cleaning is only the first step. We decontaminate, repair the damage, install fresh insulation, and seal the entry points, all with one local crew.
Attic restoration is the job we do when an attic is past the point where a cleanup fixes it. That usually means rodents have been up there for a season or longer. The insulation is matted with urine, the runways are worn through it, a duct has been chewed open, and the smell has started moving into the rooms below.
Restoration bundles four kinds of work into one job. Decontamination, repair of what the rodents damaged, new insulation, and exclusion so the attic stays the way we leave it. We handle all four from our office on Pipeline Avenue in Chino Hills, which means one inspection, one written scope, and one crew.
Only need the contamination handled? If the insulation still has its loft and nothing was chewed, our attic cleanup page covers that smaller job.
We inspect, photograph the damage, and hand you a written scope. No cost, no obligation.
The inspection is free and comes with photographs of every damaged area. Take it to your insurance carrier, compare it against other quotes, or hand it back to us.
Seven steps, always in this order.
Rats go quiet when the traps go in. Quiet is not the same as gone, and we do not start tearing out insulation on a guess.
A freshly restored attic is exactly what a roof rat is looking for. Clean, dry, warm, and full of deep new fiber to tunnel through. If the gap it used the first time is still open, you have not restored the attic. You have upgraded the nest.
That is why we will not sell restoration on its own to a building that has not been sealed. Close the doorways, rebuild, then keep the doorways closed. The last step is what the D.A.R.T. (Drive Away Rodent Traffic) maintenance program from our parent brand, Green Rodent Restoration, is for, and you can read about it on our D.A.R.T. maintenance page. The sealing work itself is covered on our rodent proofing page.
It is also why we do not use poison. A rat that dies inside the new insulation you just paid for means opening the attic again to find it.
We do not quote restoration over the phone because the range is wide. Square footage, insulation depth required, attic access, the number of entry points, and whether ducts were chewed all move the number.
A two story house with a low pitch roof and one hatch is a different job from a single story home with a walkable attic and three rooflines. The inspection is free and the quote is itemized before any work starts.
A rodent contaminated attic is handled as a health hazard, not a housekeeping job. Our crew works in respirators and disposable suits. The hatch is sealed with plastic containment so attic dust stays out of the rooms below.
With no rodenticide involved, there is nothing loose in the house for a child or a dog to find. The disinfectant is applied and left to dwell rather than fogged through the living space. The new insulation, the steel mesh, and the sealants contain no rodenticide.
Yours to keep either way, with photographs.
Every home we rodent proof and seal gets a warranty on that work. Ask us for the terms at your free inspection.
Cleanup handles droppings, nesting, and odor in an attic where the insulation is still usable and nothing was chewed. Restoration is for the attic where the insulation is matted or soaked, a duct or barrier was damaged, or the smell has soaked into the wood. We tell you honestly which one it is at the inspection.
They flatten insulation into runways and soak it with urine, which ends its insulating value. They chew open flex duct to nest in the lining, gnaw vent screens, tear vapor barriers, chew wiring insulation, and pack nests into corners. Given enough time the urine reaches the drywall below.
No. Electrical repair is not our trade. We photograph any wire with exposed copper, mark its location in the written scope, and tell you it needs an electrician before new insulation goes over it.
Sometimes, and only your policy can answer it. Many policies treat rodent damage as maintenance and exclude it, while some cover a sudden loss the damage caused. We are not adjusters and cannot tell you what your carrier will decide. We give you a photographed, itemized scope for that conversation.
It depends on the attic size, how much insulation comes out, and whether we are waiting on an electrician. Trapping runs until activity stops, then removal, decontamination, repair, and reinsulation happen over consecutive working days. You get a realistic schedule in writing at the inspection.
We will not. Fresh insulation on top of a live population is the most expensive nest you can build them. Trapping and sealing come first, and restoration starts once we have confirmed the attic is empty and closed.
Only if they can get in. Insulation does not draw rodents from outside. It just makes a comfortable home once they are inside. That is why exclusion is part of every restoration we do.
No. We are rodent specialists and only handle rats, mice, and the damage they leave behind. We do not treat insects, termites, bed bugs, cockroaches, or mosquitoes. A general pest control company is the right call for those.
Each of these can be bought on its own. Restoration is the version where we do all of them in one job.
Droppings, nesting, and odor handled in an attic that does not need rebuilding.
Removal and installation, material choices, air sealing, and ductwork explained.
The sealing work that makes a restoration permanent instead of temporary.
We dispatch from our Chino Hills office and cover 19 cities. This page is part of our wider rodent control in Chino Hills service.
