The D.A.R.T. Rodent Maintenance Program

D.A.R.T. stands for Drive Away Rodent Traffic. It is our scheduled rodent maintenance program, the follow up that keeps a sealed home or business sealed, rodent only and with no poison.

Most of our work is a project with an end. We trap, we seal, we clean, we verify, and then we leave. D.A.R.T. is the one service meant to keep going, because some properties are never really finished.

A home on the canyon edge, a restaurant beside a flood channel, a warehouse whose roll up doors open fifty times a day. A perfect seal on those buildings still gets tested every night, by weather, by settling, by a propped door, and by every rat walking the fence line.

What D.A.R.T. means

D.A.R.T. is short for Drive Away Rodent Traffic. It is the maintenance program of Green Rodent Restoration, the brand we are part of, and we run it from Chino Hills with the team that handles our removal and exclusion work.

The name describes the method. Rodents move along traffic routes, the fence line to the ivy, the ivy to the eave, the eave to the attic. A one time job closes the doors on those routes. D.A.R.T. keeps walking them on a schedule so a new gap gets found before a new nest does. Every visit is a walk of the property, a check of every seal, and trapping along the routes rodents already use if there is any activity. There is no bait route hidden inside it.

Who needs ongoing rodent maintenance

Not everyone. A proper seal on an ordinary home should hold for years. The program is for properties where the pressure never lets up.

Not sure you need a program? If the pressure around your property is ordinary, a proper seal holds, and we would rather say so than sell you visits. If you just want the building checked, start on our rodent inspection page.

How the program works

The order matters. Maintenance on a building that still has rodents inside is a trapping contract with a nicer name, so D.A.R.T. only starts once the building is empty and sealed.

Why maintenance beats reacting after damage

The cost of a rodent problem is rarely the rodents. It is what they do while nobody knows they are there.

Maintenance also keeps the no poison method honest. Poison is what people reach for once a problem has grown out of reach. Regular checks mean it never gets that far.

What D.A.R.T. costs

We do not publish plan prices, because the price follows the property. It depends on the size of the building, how many rooflines and access points it has, and how often the pressure around it calls for a visit. A commercial kitchen is a different plan from a hillside home that had one attic problem.

The inspection is free, the findings and recommended interval come in writing, and the written quote is the price. If a program is not worth it for your property, we say so.

Safety for families, pets and staff

Nothing about D.A.R.T. changes our method. There is no rodenticide on the property at any point, so there is nothing for a toddler, a dog or a line cook to find. When trapping is needed, traps sit in tamper resistant housings out of reach of pets and children. Commercial visits are scheduled for a time that suits your operation, within our open hours, and the work is kept discreet.

What D.A.R.T. does not cover. We are rodent specialists and the program is rodent only. We do not treat insects, termites, bed bugs, cockroaches, or mosquitoes, and we do not fold them into a maintenance visit. If you need those handled, a general pest control company is the right call.

What a D.A.R.T. visit covers

D.A.R.T. maintenance FAQ

D.A.R.T. stands for Drive Away Rodent Traffic. It is the scheduled maintenance program of Green Rodent Restoration, the brand we are part of. Each visit walks the property, tests every seal we installed, checks the routes rodents already use for activity and closes any new gap with steel. No poison is used.

It depends on the property. We set the interval with you at the first walk rather than putting everyone on the same route. A home under ordinary pressure needs fewer visits than a restaurant beside a flood channel or a house on the canyon edge, and we time one visit before autumn, when roof rats head indoors.

Both. It suits homeowners on the open space edge or with a past infestation who want to protect the seal they paid for, and restaurants, warehouses and property managers who want a dated service log as much as the visits, because that log is what an inspector or landlord asks to see.

Call us. Trapping when there is activity is part of every plan, and any new gap we find gets closed. Ask when you call about what your plan covers between scheduled visits, and we will tell you exactly where things stand.

Yes. It starts with the same free inspection as everything else we do. If the property is already sealed and empty we set the schedule from there. If not, we handle the removal and exclusion first, because maintaining a building with an open door does not work.

No. There is no rodenticide anywhere in the program. A bait route leaves poison out and counts what it kills. D.A.R.T. checks seals, closes gaps and traps only when there is activity. It works because the building stays closed.
